Effects of going with a 60 trim vs 57trim
I've been reading up for a while and would like to get an opinion on which trim I should go with. This will be for a f23a4 only running a .5BAR (7.25psi) w/ a 2.5in dp, 2.5in hf cat, and 3in cat back. I would like a strong/usable power band from about 36k RPM until redline(6k RPM) ( daily driver ). The info I gathered is that a Garrett T3/T4 57 trim .82 AR would be perfect for me, with the large AR helping to delay full boost. I'm just curious what the difference would be if I went with a 60 trim in spool and drivability? My goals are only to get as close to 250whp with a nice close matching tq curve as I can without uping the boost. Another reason why I wanted full boost at about 36k RPM is because with my CM flywheel, the revs rise quick, and I don't want to hit full boost in every gear. I know full boost is dependent on engine load, but I have never driven a turbo'ed car before and I can't guage the diff between partial throttle and over 50% throttle.
Flame away, sorry for the long post, and search DEZ

.57vs .60 isn't going to make that much of a difference. The .60 will take a tad longer to spool, i'll bet that you wouldn't even notice the difference.
As far going with the larger trim to prevent you from hitting full boost in each gear????That don't make sense...
If your driving normal, you won't hit full boost, unless full boost is like 3psi or your turbo is the size of a pea.
