Bad gas...What to do?
I just realized that bonehead me forgot to put stabilizer in my full tank before storing my car. It's been sitting in my garage since September, what should I do? Should I put stabilizer in it now... or try and get the gas out in the spring, do u think the gas has gone bad by now?
I would just wait for a decent day put in some cleaner treatment that is cat friendly and take the car out for a good run, burn off the fuel in the tank and top up with new fuel, it shouldn't give you any problems.
if it's only been since Sept I would hope that it would be fine still.. But if your worried go out and buy a Siphon hose and pull it out... Put in some fresh gas and your all set.

U bastard...lol part of the reason I'm worried is I'm running about 11:5:1 compression
thanks guys I'm gonna drain it.. I guessI'll need a nice size tub to drain it into...how big are the fouth gen tanks full?

i put my car away in july have not start it sence then last week i drained my tank all 2 gal. btw is gas supposta be golden color??? well i drained it just incase
huh, Now this get me wandering.
So what actually happens to it? does it lose its octane rating and go 'stale'?
Ive had like 3 qtrs of a tank ull in mine since early dec.
Aint had chance to work on the car hardly but it is high octane fuel.
Any advice

It's suggested that old gas that's been stood for a long time can form a gum deposit where it sits for a long time, I just put some Redex treatment in and then burn all the fuel off when it's out of storage & refill with fresh, have never suffered adverse affects using this method, after all Honda themselves suggest keeping the gas tank full if storing for a long period.

when it sits for a long time it turns into varnish

One of the theories it's suggested to store with a full tank is, if there's no air in the tank you can't get any corrosion, which can be caused in a part empty tank by moisture in the air inside tank condensing on cold surface causing rust inside the tank & turning into water droplets which run into bottom of tank & contaminate the gas in the bottom with water.
well u see I usually fil the tank and put stabilizer at the same time but this time I forgot to put the stabilizer in, seeing I spent 8000 to build my motor I figure it would make sense to be safe rather than sorry. I've also heard gas turns into varnish is left too long.. Thx for ur suggestions guys..
yall are retarded. just buy some isopropyl alcohol and put it in, and that will suck up the water that might of accumulated in there and some high octane gas and call it a day. the alcohol with suck up the water and the gas will suck up the alcohol
Alcohol will screw up the injectors and fuel system. Rubber parts DONT like alcohol...If you had a full tank when you stored it, it will be FINE. As Britishlude said, there is no way for condensation to accumulate in the tank when it is full...It takes about 6 months for 5 gallons of gasoline to go bad if it is properly stored, and you have 14, sooo....
