ok..sorry bout the blank post...i accidentaly deleted all my info and then saved...anywayz...so im drivin around tonight, and was shiftin into 4th, when the car just died..the lights and everything else electrical worked fine, but when i tried to start, it would just crank and crank but not start...its got a full tank of gas, so that cant be the prob...any suggestions as to what it might be would be great.

 

check for spark at the spark plug wires and check to make sure you are getting fuel those are the first two steps in finding out what is wrong

 

Check your coil or the plug wire from your cap to the coil. (Its the plug in the middle.) It might have fallen out or your coil died. You need fuel, fire and compression to make your engine fire so one or those has failed. It sounds ignition related.

 

if its not your distributer and you might wanna check your ECU..... if all else fails try tapping your ECU lightly with a hammer ( works for me) if that still don't work get a new ECU....
Check all grounds.....

Are you a honda tech? no but i did sleep in a holiday in express last night

 

do you have any check engine light on? And did you check for spark?

 

is the fuel pump working?

 

hey thanks for all the replies everyone...me and my dad figured out that it was my distributor that has gone bad (i hope thats all)...gotta go to the junkyard tommorow to see if i can find one...

 

I figured it would be that....honda distributors go bad all the time but usually it is actually just the internal coil....I replaced my distributor only to later realize I just had a bad coil so before you pay a whole bunch for a distributor you may want to go to a pick and pull style junk yard and pocket a coil and try it first
