Default Why are preludes so hard to sell???

also, i sorta got my distributor wet, and now i can't start it.. is it because of that??? i took the cap off and on the bottom inside the cap was sorta wet, and had little oil.. wiped it down and all. still doesn't start.. is it the cause of the cap and rotor getting wet?

Does it turn over but just won't crank, or what?

maybe you f$%ked up your ignitor,
take the dizzy cap off and use a hair drier or something
to dry everything up and then try starting it up again

Lightly spray WD-40 in and around the cap, wipe and let dry..

Take Cottonwoodz advice for the cap. If the actually interior parts of the distributor got wet I would take it off the car ASAP before it has time to dry and sink it in distilled water. Make sure you wash the whole thing out so everything gets good and wet from the distilled water. Now take it out of the distilled water and let it dry. This will save your electronics if they are not already blown.

so if it take the cap off, clean it with water, and completely dry it off it'll still work?

No Man : Don't use water if anythin a water removal spray as already suggested like wd 40 and then wipe it and let it dry, you need any dampness right out totally. Distilled water is still water but without impurities, I think the guy who advises water meant distilled spirits surely ?

Is the dist cap free from any hairline cracks, and are the contacts for the rotor arm all clean & in good condition ? Worth checkin next time it lets you down, but if you've got it starting ok now don't disturb it.

okay just what i thought. i tried starting it up again today. and it didn't start.. wtf?? im thinking it might also be because of the gas?? i bought it from a junkyard and thinking maybe the gas is old(gas light is also on too). think thats it?

Hard to say. Next time it won't start pull a plug. Check to see if it is fuel soaked. Check to make sure you have spark. It's a littlehard to tell you what is wrong without knowing basics like that. If it is something intermittent it may be a bad connection somewhere. My sisters Civic did the same thing, turned out to be a bad coil. You just need to figure out what you are losing. Spark or fuel.
