Default SOHC or DOHC swap?

what is up all. im runnin on a tight budget and tryin to make a decision of doing a SOHC mini swap with turbo or a DOHC all motor into my 99 civic CX ek hatch. i figured doing a mini SOHC swap with turbo would cost almost as much or a little more than a DOHC all motor swap. which would you all recommend? ive been tryin to make this decision for the longest time. lol

by the way,if i did a sohc swap, it would be a d16y8 EX, and the DOHC would be a B16a2 SiR

go with the y8 turbo. you'll really love the sohc turbo more than the b16, and it will be faster and cheaper than a b16a2 SiR. if you're going all motor, at least make it a b18c1/c5 or h22.

Power- turbo d16
Reliability- b16

*a turbo installed and run properly can be very reliable...however no ones going to argue against the fact that a stock b16 would be more reliable than that.

what kind of horsepower are you gonna get out of a d15b7 engine with a turbo?
and how much boost would you run with that?

mini-me turbo gets my vote. much more torque than the b16 and a more usable powerband

he is not doing a mini-me! even though he should, because it will be much cheaper to just buy a head.
