Default Apexi N1 resonated?

I have a Apexi N1 in my room that im gona get put on later this week. Im gona go with 2.25 with a cat. Should I go with a resonator. My friend has thesame set up with out a resonator, and it sounds kinda raspy at times. Will having a resonator change anything but the sound, and whats a good price for one.

What is a good price for a resonator? I have the apexi N1. I went to a local shop and they said $117 for piping from the cat back. And then for a good resonator they said $75-80. So a total of about 195, to weld on the muffler, and add a resonator. Does that sound like a normal price? Will having a resonator effect performance any? does anyone have any sound clips?
