From experience. Does the Apex'i N1 Universal muffler sound good?
I have a slight dilemma. As some likely know, I made a thread a while back purtaining to the Apex'i universal muffler and all this stuff about resonators. Well from hearing the muffler could you please describe the sound and if any resonator crap was done to it.
You can vote here so I have a clear view of the general consensus.

the universal one doesn't sound good. Gotta get the whole catback to get the best sound out of it. I've heard both so that's my opinion.

I have the universal n1 welded to 2.25 inch pipe with no resonators, except cat. I have headers, and intake if that helps the sound any? But my exhaust sounds great. VERY LOUD but nice. I have had the universal Dunk, and RSR full cat-back and this N1, i think the N1 is best ( i have the NA size one by the way. I have pics if u want.

i LOVE the sound mine produces
but in fact, it ALL DEPENDS on whether you're running a cat, resonator, straight-pipe, diameter of piping, etc
i am using a resonator in place of the cat, and 2.25" piping mated to an apexi N1, and it sounds GRRRRRRRRRREAT......not raspy at all, but it has that "aggressive" tone to it

Every universal N1 muffler I've ever heard has sounded raspy, and extremely horribly loud.
The full catback doesn't sound quite as raspy IMHO, but is still very loud.
