Internal upgrades finish should i........
Hi all i got my h22a block sleeved with Darton sleeves and also got JE 9:1 pistons
along with Eagle rods and the engine kit.now they are about to start to install my turbo.i have everything i need but i don't have a boost controller.will i be able to drive the car without a boostcontroller?Alsoi want to get the car dyno tuned before he give me my car back can i do that without a boostcontroller?should i drive the car for x amount of miles before i dyno tune it?oh the turbo is a t3t4oe.should i keep the rpms to a limit of 4k rpms until i take it to the dyno?just the parts and labor to do this job the guy charged me 4,500 and am kinda broke for now so i don't want to hurt the motor in any way.also the head is still stock.
all positive info will be helpfull thanks in advance.

sounds like you got a sweet setup.
Yes, you are going to want to break in your engine before you dyno tune it, so you will have to drive a certain distance...or let it idle for a really long time lol.
yes, you can run your car with a boost controller, but it will not cut off boost until your wastegate spring does. so let's hope you have a soft wastegate spring in it. Also, I would not suggest dyno tuning the car before you get your boost controller, as it would be a waste of money because the car would not be set up for how you would have it when you race.

Thanks for the info.
Should i drive 3k miles before i tune it or i need to drive for a longer time?also i was kinda looking at getting a apexi avc-r but thats out of my reach right now so should i just get the greddy profec b-spec2? it't small like me timmer.i really dond need all the other stuff right? just turn up and down the boost as needed right?thatks again for all positive info.

Really, before you even think about getting the boost controller, go to the dyno and make sure everything is running correctly. Getting boost controllers aren't needed as long as the wastegate and manifold are doing it's job and you're not running lean and have a decent Air/Fuel Ratio.
If this is your first turbo honda, trust me. Get used to it first. Even without a Boost controller, you want to learn as much about the car's behavior as possible before trying to through in more power... There are TONS of alternatives other than the AVC-R, and not as complicated to use correctly.
Just take your time.. You're doing fine from what I can see so far.

so i really don't have to brake-in the motor before i go to the dyno even if my pistons, rods, sleeves and engine kit are all brand new?
well i know my motor will be able to handle 15-20psi witch should put me around the 450whp range.so am prolly better off with a 10lb spring for now right?and yes this is my first turbo honda but i used to have NOS in the car before i went turbo so i kinda know how quick the rpms go up.thanks again for your info.
