Major help on LS/VTEC rebuild???
io just rebuilt the bottom end and still i'm getting problems. for some odd reasons im not getting enough oil to the head. and plus im not getting enough coolant to the motor. when i know i everything is install proper. i made sure that there was not oil leaks and no improper installation. everything was legit and there was no shortcut taken. i just dont know what the hell is going on. please help anyone.
no, im using the b16a PR3 oil and water pump. seems like oil and coolant are mix and theres not enough oil to reach the head. when i check the oil, it was a bubbling carmel color like. is this normal??? anyone knows??
Are you sure you installed the head gasket correctly? Obviously the coolant and oil are mixing. What head gasket are you using. I would check it. Also, check for bubbles in the coolant.

i know this may sound stupid, but it has to be asked..... did you prep the head for lsvtec??? plug up the oil hole on the bottom of the head?

yes everything was prep proper with no shortcuts. the vtec line is connected from the oil pressure sender to the head where many ls vtec is done, behind the distributer cap. what can cause such problem???
Blown head gasket or a cracked block will cause the oil and the coolant to mix, I would try running a compression test and see what kind of numbers you come up with. Also what size oil line did you use for the tap from the block to the head? How many miles are on your pumps?
this also might be a stupid question but did you remove the copper rings on the headgasket on the intake side because that would cause it to sit on the rings and not seal well causing oil leak and poor presure
You do not need to remove the copper rings, it seals just fine with them. Personally I would take the head gasket off and replace with another, making sure that both surfaces are clean and free of any and everything. Also before you pu the head on, did you check to make sure that it was not warped or out of tolerance.
Also which head and headbolts did you use, did ont see this mentioned.

i decided to not to remove the pins and still it works out fine. thanks guys. but now heres another problems. i got the car started and it begans to overheat. not right away, but after a long while. the temperture rises when you push on the gas. i felt the top radiator hose and it felted like it was gonna explode. what would you guys recommend on doing????
guess what i did, i install new b16 water pump and took out the thermostat. i havent started it yet but for future references would that cause anything to the motor. i have a water temp gauge that will be install soon and have a switch being install for temp. will this be a problem??
