Default Alarm install

I'm doing the best alarm install ever (I hope) If anyone wants me to post some pics and a writeup I will. The goal is to be nearly steal proof. Also installing pwr windows (if I can find some regulators), pwr locks, and remote trunk pop.

Oh, almost forgot, starter cutout and fuel pump cutoff switch, 4D handles, and sound deadning.

Little update. My digital camera won't work, it is too cold, IDK why im even working outside. My shop is at ~24*F, I need a spacce heater.

I've spent ~15hrs at it so far, and I have the dashboard, heater core, AC evaperator, blower, pedal box, and most of the wiring harness out. It is basically stripped, because I decided to do some sound dampning too. I am replacing all the crappy rubber foam **** with some spray-on stuff that is lighter and should be more effective (like THIS).

I wanted the alarm brain out of sight, mostly so I don't have to see it, so it is mounted on top of the (gutted) AC evaporator box, which now houses a siren. The wires are impossable to get to with the interior installed, so no bypassing the alarm. I hope I get it right the first time.

I must add 4 wires through the door not a fun task unless I figure something out.

I just had a nice -and cheap - alarm installed in my CRX, because the previous owner had lost both remote controls for the Cobra that was originally installed......

The alarm has all the required functions, plus I bought all the control modules (locks, windows and sunroof) so that I dont have to close everything before shutting off the car (plus its c00l ). The alarm was installed in the usual place, as well as the siren (in the engine bay). Work was done in a Honda dealer. Total cost: 50E. Total time: around 2H. Not bad, eh ?

what kind of alarm/power windows lock are you installing? Where and how much? I've been looking at the spal kit...so far direct from them i've gotten a price for $150 for Power locks and Alarm system with magnetic shock sensor. Prob another $150 for power windows.

-Alarm is a Fusion FX-2000 has shock seensor, current sensor, and door, hatch, and hood pin switch inputs
-Locks are universal actuators , hatch popper is a universal solenoid.
-Windows are going to be Civic 4D regulators if I can find one in a junkyard around here.

Lock actuators are $5 on ebay, window motors are cheap, usually ~$20, and fit perfect.

DO A WRITE UP!!
I just installed my own alarm about a month ago, and it was pretty easy. I also installed power locks at the same time with a kit I bought from ebay for about 40 bucks. The only problem is that it's not the cleanest install. This was my first time doing this, and would like to see what a clean install looks like.

Will any door lock kit work with any alarm/keyless entry system? It looks like you guys bought everything seperate but i was under the impression i had to buy everything from one company...

Thanks again,
Vince

Most alarms/keyless entry systems will work with universal (2 wire) actuators. Universal Actuators are what come in most kits, stand alone or packaged with an alarm. I only say most because it is possable that they will come with factory style (3 wire) actuators, though I have NEVER seen that.

So short answer, yes, you can mix and match.

It sounds like a great idea, but I would be too worried about thieves reading this. If they wanted your car, they could just follow your write-up on here and by-pass everything you worked so hard on.

It's a good idea to help people on here, but just be careful!

Good luck,
Julian
