Default Why people say that?

That an engine with higher compression ration is easier to drive daily?

ie: 8.5:1 vs 9.2:1

werd. but hey, I think they say that because a daily driver with a 8.5:1 CR will have power loss in lower RPM, which is where u are on the street. A 9.5:1 or 10:1+ CR will yield better low end power for street use.

compression, compressin ratio, high compression, low compression, advantages + high compression, there was a topic on here not too long ago that was about 3 or 4 pages that discussed about the advantages of each ( high and low)

Thanks again.

but is it really noticeable?? I mean the difference is it like day and night or simply 2-3 hp/tq losses

go pick up the most recent issue of DRAG SPORT magazine. They have an entire article about pistons and compression ratio. I think they said something like for every point you raise compression its a 12% of the entire engine output increase. dont qoute me on that though. well maybe not 12%, but i forgot what % they said.
