Damaged crank pulley questions.
My gsr swap came with a damaged crank pulley. The outer most edge of the pulley what holds the power steering belt had broken off in multiple places. We weren't using power steering my del sol so we ground off the rest of the outer lip on the pulley with a die grinder and smoothed it all out. My local engine shop said not to worry about the pulley.
Should I worry about this pulley causing problems at high rpm? I read else were on here that the stock pulleys are not balanced and just use a rubber spacer to dampen the crank. So if the outer ring of metal on the pulley is damaged it doesn't matter??
I'm asking because we did a full rebuild on the gsr about 1500 miles ago. It had been running real strong, never smoked at all, didn't burn any oil. I never ran the engine about 5k during the break in and didn't go into vtec unil after 600 miles. We'll I made my first pull to the redline a couple of days ago and two days later the front main seal by the oil pump started leaking pretty bad. Lost a quart in 25 miles doing 70mph. Just wondering if the pulley at 8k rpm damaged the seal.

balancing on the pulley is different that dampening. the OEMs are all dampened and balanced (notice those lil craters in them on the sides) ... the N1 is differnet alloy and is not dampened. Honda and Spoon takes their motors upwards of 10Krpm with the N1 in endurance testing so for some reason it works. Also, I've never seen damage from the N1 CTRs, but have seen couple Turbo motors from using the older Unorthodox aluminums.
