Love to Rev, you couldn't have said it better. People are used to these big american pieces of junk and slam my car door like it was a 500 lb steel thing. Now, when somebody gets out, I actually reach over as they close it and buffer the slam by taking some shock with my arm so it closes nice and soft. They even manage to slam it right after I say "It closes easily, don't slam it". Seconds later...Slam!

 

I hate it. My whole family slams my car doors! My brother drives a Ford Ranger, my sister and my parents are used to the Expedition. So when they get to drive in my car, and we reach the final destination, SLAM! And just like you, I say, "you don't have to slam it shut...it closes easily!"

I usually just end up telling them that I have to get something out of the car from that side, and I can close the door for them.

Needless to say, I try to take my family as few places as possible.

 

i always close my d00rs so lightly, sometimes i have to do it many times to shut it. but my wife sometimes just slams it so I have to remind her about that.
I use that buffer method with my wife as well (door wize)

close all the windows and it isn't so bad. I always find myself sticking my arm across the passenger seat to stop the door from slamming.

 

Seems like no matter who is getting out they always slam it, no matter how many times I've told them. Feels like there going to knock the door through, makes me cringe every time.

 

It's worth it if a hottie date does it. Or course, returning the favor would be a good way.

 

I HATE people who slam my doors....
it's like I really don't understand that....

when there is sun in your eyes...you put on sunglasses....when it is dark....you take them off...

same goes with lifting weights.... when the weight is heavy, you exert more strength, when it is light, you can take it easy....

why can't people frIGGIN' feel the difference in weight of Honda, Mercedes, Jeep, whatever the hell doors they usually close?

people don't listen either.... do you actually think my car is built so poorly that a light push to close my door will cause it to bounce back and attack you in the ***??

I would rather open and close the door a couple more times on a friend's car than to slam it in his face when I get out.....

 

LoL, I lost track of how many times I've done this; people think I'm nuts, but dammit, its annoying!

 

My gf gets REAL pissed at me when I'm like, "Easy on the doors babe".

Oh well.

 

I hate my windows they knock like an old hoar when the roll down, does anyone know how to either slow the drive down or fot a better stop?

 

I do that too, all the freakin time!

 

I've develop a special skill to shut the door at the lightest strength.
The secret is to release the door at the tip of your finger like a baskettball jump shot and roll it off. It "clicks" in a closes right. If I failed. I will lift the door handle and shuffle it in slightly.
For those who slam my door.....Muahahaha! I place their hands at the trunk edge and SLAM down my trunk right on their Fuggin Fingas!!

Yeah I do that too, it's all in the wrist. When I bring my "A" game, that door closes perfectly. When i'm not "in the zone", i'm slamming doors left and right.

hahaha, who'd ever thought basketball terminology applies to automobiles just as well. j/k

 

I hear you guys...the worst is the people who have been told 100's of times, like girlfriends, etc. My current gf get's made at me now, because I keep telling her on a daily basis, so I shoot back with "Well then, remember not to slam it and you won't hear me say it anymore..." An ex girlfriend was in my car not too long ago (my dumb fault) and when she got out, she slammed it so hard the whole car rocked from side to side. She got an earfull.

 

WATCH OUT!! with that buffer method. I really messed up my fingers one time.
