WTF? Check out my motor. What is this plug for?
I am doing a longblock swap on my integra and i bought a motor from hmotorsonline. As i was changing the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner i notice that my old engine had a wire under the oil pump that my new motor from hmo didnt have. will i throw a CEL code if this is not pluged in? what exactly is this? what can i do now?
old engine B18B-1997 integra LS "auto" if that matters

new engine JDM B18B also obd-2 from what im told from the guys at hmo

also if you look at the new motor theres all that black crud around the oil pan. Is this normal? maybe an oil leak?
Please help, thanks in advance

That is a crank shaft fluctuation sensor. Its for obd2, if the old one has it the new one needs it. It mounts to the pump so you need to swap the oil pumps to use it. With out it you will throw a code.
thanks for the comments. im gonna swap it this weekend. Im fixing my sisters car and shes not a racer so im gonna leave it obd-2. does anyone know of any existing threads on how to change an oil pump? im too lazy to search right now.
