How big of a difference does TPS make?

How big of a difference does TPS make?
I just got done with mpfi, and im getting a code 7 and 9. Ive been out driving it some today and it pulls 100x better than it did before.. but im getting a code 9 and i dont have a TPS on it.. its in the mail. How big of a difference does having hte TPS make? should i expect it to pull any better when i get the 2 codes fixed? thanks
