Power loss at low rpm (1300-2000)
I just bought a 90 honda civic 2 door hatchback on it, it has 175,000 kms and i picked it up off some old guy who had it since new. He did the regular maintenance on it and its in really good shape but im noticing a loss of power at low rpm, this is whats happening:
It seems to be ok when im taking off in first gear but i really notice it when i shift into second and the rpms drop back down to around 1500 rpm. At that point i have to push the gas peddle almost to the floor and i feel no increase in power. It also does it in other gears at the same rpm. Once im over 2000 rpm it runs perfectly fine.
Ialso notice that the car has to crank over a little bit longer to start then my 1991 honda dx.
A few other things i should add is that the car has been sitting for around 4 months with just over 1/4 of a tank inside an unheated garage in Canada.
When i picked it up a couple of days ago i filled it up with premium.
So far i have:
-Changed out the distributor cap and router (plugs and wires are good)
-Replaced the fuel filter
what else would you suggest i try?

run that gas all the way out and run berrymans through it. and as mentioned, air filter. make sure butterfly in tb is not sticking. injectors could be dirty? do you smell gas?
what is this berrymans stuff? im in canada and i have never heard of it.
the dealer said you can do a engine flush but its 160 bucks and i would prefer to do it myself, whats a strong cleaner you can use? one that you have to unhook the fuel system and run through your engine?
