Default Prelude rear window wiper

I have seen the wiper on the rear of 4th gen ludes on JDM and Euro ludes... Why does America get skimped and all the goodies... and is it possible to install one on USDM ludes? Can you take a motor and wiper assembly from an Integra and customize it onto a Lude??? I did a search and nothing came up so I've come to ask the experts and critics...

well from what i have seen in pictures is that the wiper assemblem comes thru the rear glass. so if you were to cutomize, you would be making a hole in your windows for starters

I was able to get the J-spec rear window and wiper a few years back from an importer. I almost put it in but I thought why would I wanna clutter the back window with an ugly wiper... and the wiper motor assembly weighs like another 8 lbs so that's more weight on an already fat pig Well needless to say I've still got the rear window with wiper so if anyone wants it... let me know

it doesnt even rain hard in socal, there's no point to put a rear wiper that only can be used once a year.

some euro honda get a big **** rear fog light too, because they got fog problem to deal with.

everything can be done, i know alot of teg took out the rear wiper

Canadian Ludes do though

i dont' think you'd want the wiper if you had it. it's not really needed. I think they just put it because the prelude was supposed to be a fairly luxurious car, so to have a car with a slopped rear window without a wiper (when cheaper hatches have them) might have seemed a little crazy in those markets. in north america though, they wanted to make the car a "coupe", because hatches are considered cheap, so ditching the wiper made sense.

is there a seperate switch or is it one speed off the front wiper switch? How much would you want for the whole assembly?

my lude came stock with power folding mirrors and a rear whipper....

oh wait... thats right.... mine was imported from japan

i like having a rear whipper. i was used to my ludes since i was 15 and then i got a teg gsr and used it pretty frequently in florida. now that i have my jdm lude in cali i have already used it a few times.

i have also seen the entire JDM rear windshield and whipper assembly with switches and all go on ebay for a few hundred. you may want to check there occasionally if you are interested.

i would love to have the wiper. In TN it rains a ton and it could definatly be used because of the slope in the rear window.
