air/fuel gauge installation help

Default air/fuel gauge installation help

help! well i just got an autometer pro-comp air/fuel gauge for 10 bucks for my rex but i have no idea where to hook it up. there's three wires. red/black/purple. where can i splice them to? know of any tech articles for this? help me out. thanks.

ground the black red goes to a switch power source and tap the purple about (inch or two?) from the 02 sensor.

I'm pretty sure the purple wire is the sensor wire.
Which should make the red wire the +12V wire, and the black wire the ground.

Tap the purple wire into the oxygen sensor wire.
Tap the red wire into any 12 source (i used the cigarette lighter for my guage).
Tap the black wire into a GOOD ground (perhaps on the ECU harness).

I'm not positive on the wire colors because I'm not using the POS autometer guage. Still, it's better than nothing...

hehe, yeah i've heard autometers are POS. but for 10 bux w/ gauge pod, y not right? anyway, thanks for the quick response guys. peace.
