Default Need help with head unit Wiring!!!

Hi, i'm new to h-t and just want to get some help with some wiring with my head units, please help a newbie out asap. I just bought a 9811 alpine cd player at circuit city, i got home and pull it out and tried to install it, i got it wired up everything correctly except for the GND (ground wire , black) that came along with the sheet metal, i dont know where should i connect this to , can someone tell me how this works? and when i tried to start up my car and see if it works, it doesnt. what i did was instead of using a snap on harness , i just solder them togetether. And one last question for the yellow wire ( batterY) how do i connect that? oh wand whats the different between the romete and power anteena lead?

First of all, do you have a voltmeter or test light? This will help you tremendously in searching for the correct wires to hook it up to. For the ground wire, I believe Alpine uses a spade terminal. Just find a spot where there is bare metal (may require you to sand the paint off to get to bare metal. Install the wire in that spot. For the memory wire (yellow), you will need to find a constant 12v source. Cigarette lighters are great for this. Most should be just 2 wires (ground and power) - just splice into the correct one. As for the remote lead and power antenna lead. The remote lead turns on your amps (if you have any) and the power antenna lead obviously make sthe antenna work. Both emitt 12v of current. If you don't have a power antenna but have mutliple amps - you could in theory use the remote to turn on 1 amp and then the power antenna lead to turn on another.

hey thanksa bunch, i bought the snap on wire harness today and it didnt work , so guess what ? I found out it was one of the stupid fuse that made the unit not working hehehe (dumb me ) anywayz, i took the fuse out ( 15) and i didnt have a 15 to replace ( too late to go to any store and get one to replace ) so i put fuse 10 into it . the unit worked but there wasnt any sound, could thise be the fuse problem?
