Default What are your opinions on the ARC intake?

Those that have the intake how do you like it. Just installed the intake, it feels like it has a lot of power all the way up to 7000RPM then it feels like my engine is fighting to get air. I think that replacing the filter that comes with the intake would make a big diference. Maybe a high flow cotton gauze filter would be better, has anybody done this? ARC and Mugen intakes are in the same price range Mugen being a little cheeper, which one would you choose. Anybody felt both of them, what are your opinions.

I felt the ARC and it was cold and metallic.

The Mugen feels plasticky and smooth.

Why would you choose the ARC over the Mugen?

Hey josh,
I think that the thick filter holds the intake charge. YOu will loose your lowend if you go to a more free flowing filter.

i like the ARC boxes. i'm getting a ek dual filter box and going to mod up some brackets to fit into my eg. i installed my new suspension, and it's pretty low. i'm scared having the aem that close to the ground now. so ARC it is....

ARC is super cool even tho i dont have the damn induction pipe which is somehow lost in mail well with just the box i can feel better low and mid range response compared to AEM CAI, i hope to give better review of it whenever the induction chamber gets here

How loud is it??

The Mugen has a nice muted mellow induction noise - which is very different from the "mad can of bees" sound the AEM makes. I hear my exhaust more now - which to me is a nicer engine noise.

the ARC is actually very quiet. but then i dunno how it will be when i have the induction chamber too, maybe it will be a lil noiser by then, but i dont think anything will out-noise the AEM

The intake itself is very quiet, you just hear a slight whistle when driving. What is really cool is how it muted the engine noise. With other intakes i've had vtec sound comes on like a gunshot, the ARC quiets the engine noise and smoothes it out quite a bit. The engine doesn't sound like its on the threashold of breaking.

Hey Ben how are you? Thanks for the ride in the car, it was an awesome experience...love the intake, having fun with all this low and mid range power.
