CRX wheels on 95 EX
well, im buying my friends 15" konig villians off of his 95 civic ex, and hes just gonna use my 89 crx si wheels, which are 14" by 5.5". I swapped them all out, and he went to backup, when i hear clunk, clunk, clunk. Turns out to be, the center part of his drivers side caliper, rubs on the back of the wheel. His passenger side is fine, jus tthe drivers side. i cant figure it out, even though i didnt look at it that much. It just pissed me off, because im getting a really good deal on these. Anyone know why it wont work, or will they just not fit at all. What do stock ex wheels look like, and what size are they. My crx hf steelies wouldnt fit on his either. Arggg.... i want these wheels.
Well, its just like having 92-95 brakes on a crx, big brake idea, but still on the civic. I thought you could fit those brakes under crx wheels, and only one of his rub, its weird, you can physically see the caliper sticking out further than the other side. Arrg...
It' not a problem. I did the same thing on my bros 94 EX. on the inside of the wheel there is a part of the casting of the wheel that sticks out. thats what hits the caliper. take a grinder and slowly grind off just enough to clear the caliper on all four wheels. then go have them rebalanced. good to go.
