Well, today I changed the oil looking for coolant in it. It looks good. So I changed the oil, put some Mobil 1 10w30 in there, along with some Marvelous Mystery Oil.

Also flushed the radiator. I thought the thermostat was either broken or stuck, but the H mechanic said that since my fan came on, its working. But the temp. guage still sits on Cold. Never moves...sometimes the radiator smokes...not sure if its from the cold temp. outside, or from a messed up sensor or thermostat.

Any help there?

Lastly, I installed a 95 P72(GSR) ECU.

It still runs like crap. VERY slow...it hardly has any pickup, and the throttle response is very slow and delayed. When you start in 1st gear, its like starting in 3rd.

Its now a stock GSR with stock GSR ecu...only engine mod I have a Walbro fuel pump(255). Would that cause a problem?

The H tech suggested taking the valve cover off, and setting the timing, and lining the cams up top-dead-center.

Any other suggestions?

Stupid question, but is the temp guage hooked up? Tons of wires with a swap like that. As for the slow part, I'd definently check the timing out. If timing is good, then you sir have a major issue with the engine.

I'll check the temp. sensor. Could have screwed up that wiring during the swap!

 

the thermostat is most likely busted and that could actually explain your issues

 

did you roll it over to tdc and make sure the cam timming was on par
