Totaled Rs (I know it's a taboo topic, but...)
How much could I expect to pay for a totaled ITR? I know it really depends on the severity of the damage, but to anybody who bought theirs from their insurance company: How much did you repurchase it for? Basically I am looking for most of the ITRs parts to go into a '94 Teg, which are as follows:
1. Engine & ECU
2. Suspension with 5 lug conversion (obviously).
3. Interior (Seats, Door Panels, Gauge cluster, etc.)
4. Wing
5. Wheels
I would love to just outright buy a damaged ITR like Import Auto Salvage has for sale and fix it, but I have to buy a winter beater now for my gf, and I think we are going to buy a '94 Teg.

I paid $4500 for my car that was totaled. Picture is below of the extenet of the damage. Most of the interior parts were fine, and the engine, wheels, brakes, suspension were okay for hte most part. Lots of usable parts.
Ok one better: although I'm NOT proud, I totalled my PY this last spring when I hit a deer at about 85 MPH and careened into a cement divider.
After the insuarnce company totalled it, " and it took 2 attempts and me badgering them" The first estimate was $14,850. worth of damage. I bought it back for $4500. and promptly sold it to a Club member and friend of mine.
I have PICs, they are sad but Can't post em. As for useful parts, it was mostly in tact. The engine, tranny, brakes, and suspension and wheel assemblies were in good order and were worth more seperately than the whole car. The interior got busted up a little but it actually still ran, I know cause I drove it in my parking lot.
Rodney Here on SHO has a hybrid Civic Si with an ITR transplant. He got his from a yard in Virginia I think. I'm sure he'll post here, just ask him about it.
Good luck,
A.

$4,500 sounds amazing considering what the engine is worth alone.
Besides the obvious (finding a totaled ITR on this web board), is there any website or listing where I can located totaled ITRs? I hope to buy one next spring for my summer/winter project.

Crashed my R last year. Turned it onto the passenger side doing SERIOUSLY dumb ****. Insurance offered 16k minus 2.3k to buy it back. That's right, you read that right. I bought a race car for $2300. Pulled it straight, replaced a few pieces, and banged it back out. It needed lots of suspension work and a new front clip, but now it's a little demon on track. I think I have like $12000 invested in this thing, and it's all mine, well... almost. I pay an extra $22 a month to my insurance company

I think I paid about $4k for mine when I bought it back. Most of the rear suspension was toast along with the right rear rim. Frame was bent and the rear lower seat was creased upward in the middle.

Insurance didn't total it. They estimated the damage as 10k when 12k would have been totalled. I wanted a re-estimate but no one would do it. So I took the money, kept the R, and build a Civic hatchback.

Since we're posting dirty pictures anyways...
Oh yeah, hey Merritt, happy belated b-day. I seem to recall ours are close. I crashed hard last year around September 2nd I think. My bday is September 11th, which is now going to be a rather depressing day
Anyhow, I'll let you guys decide on which is before and which is after. Might be hard to tell

i'm not exactly sure what happened, but from the look of the pics he went into the woods at speed. the suspension was packed with redish brown dirt. aside from a broken iac, alternator and misc. plugs on the engine, the motor was in perfect shape. i needed a new tranny because the case was broken and the main shaft was bent. i got the new tranny with my $7,000 purchase price. believe it or not, but all the wheels, especially the front right wheel made it out of the crash! the lower control arm was tweaked though. it was a hard hit, it even broke the rear wing.
