car wont start, should i get a new battery?
This has happened to me a few times now in the past week or so. if i get a jump or pop start the car it will start up fine for a few days but if i dont start it for like 16 hours or so it wont start. i also have two amps in my car making about 1000-1100 watts but even when i keep them turned off the same thing happens. Should i just get a new battery now and what kind should i get? I also plan on getting a higher output alternator but it wouldnt be for a month or more and then i would have to find the time to install it.
by the way i would need to get the battery today so i will be able to drive to school tomorrow. so ordering one online isnt an option. i was looking at optima yellow and red top. are these any good, do they even fit and which one would work better for me
ok, well im going to go to advanced auto parts now and see if i can get an optima yellow top that i can fit in my car. if not ill just get whatever else they have
Make sure your alternator is charging. You need to see 13v or 13.5v at the battery posts while the car is running. Even with stuff like lights & fans running. If not, you'll just drain your new battery, too.
is your batt light on, I imagine your charging system is ok if not.
Your problem is probably just an old bat that wont hold charge.

the battery light never cam on. since i switched them out yesterday it has been running fine with no problem so far. i will still most likely get a new alternator that can handle my amps better.
