battery?
let's start off by saying that i drive my car on friday-sunday. over the last 2 months or so, i noticed that when i first start up my car on friday the starting sounded weaker and slower than usual. however after that initial start up then it will start fine and normal except when i leave it for a good day or so straight.
so today it didnt wanna start. i went outside, tried to start it and nothing happened at all excpet maybe one crank or so. then i tried to get it jumped but still it wouldnt go. when i got a voltmeter and checked it...it was at about 10V. it should be at 12 right? either way it still didnt work, even with a jump. so i'm guessing i need a new battery?

a fully charged battery should read at least 12.6v. dont just jump it. put it on a charger, see if it holds a charge. dont go buying a new battery if you dont need it. its probably a problem with your electrical system drawing too much current when the car is off. i.e...a light staying on, etc...
could it be anything else since there is no sound watsoever now when i try to start it? its like my clutch isnt depressed or like i have my ecu jumped to pull a code.
The voltage measurement would indicate a bad or only discharged battery.
When you tried to jump it, were all the cable connections made to points with good contact? It should have fired up.

i may have not connected it properly, but there was still not cranking sound whatsoever when the cables were connected.
the voltage read about 10 at first...then i left it for a while, checked again later, and it said about 12.
sivik: im away from my car now so ill have someone check it tonight.
