MY B16 idleing @ 200 RPM? WTF
My b16 in my coupe is idleing at around 100 to 200 rpms then jumps up to around 800 rpm why the hell would it be doing this.. i've got a exhuast leak but i dont think thats it because i was doing that before my exhuast leak..I just put a new power plus intake mani on and when i got the car back it did that the first day then stopped for a week or so and now its doing it alot... oh yea if i start the car up and its idleing around 200 rpm if i rev it up to about 5000 rpms then it goes back to the usual 1100 and will stay for awhile why i drive, then when i throw it into "N" the idle drops back down to 200 rpms. WTF is going on here?? HELP ME its ****** gettin on my nerves!!
scary sounds like the same thing that happened to me. b16 was running fine put edelbrok mani on. B16 still ran fine, then one day started idleing at about 200-250 then back to normal. went back down.
car then had complications, thought it was piston rings, becuase it had the smoke. took b16 apart to build ls/vtec and found out that when putting the manifold on I had missed just the smallest amount of old intake manifold gasket near the small coolent hose that goes into the dizzy side of the head. and you can see on my mani where just a little amount(a streak) was showing where it was slightly running into my #1 cylinder. what to come a piston that is sitting about 7 hairs off of the cylinder and watery oil.
not trying to get you worrying but it might be worth your while to look over your car good. In my case I could not tell because it was in the center of the gasket where it was happening and there was a perfect seam all the way around the mani like it was perfect. But what just a little bit could do.
CHECK YOUR OIL but donot stress might have only just been my stupid mistake.
