Default Compressor Covers = E vs S

Ive been looking to put a GT35 non BB on my car. Im going with this over the SC61 merely because ive been given a deal and can get for the same price. Anyways, I wanted the larger cover merely to go better with my 2.5" turbo piping but would I see any slower spoolup time? Precision said approx 10% more power but this turbo will push more than i need anyway.

Basically just want to see how the comp housing size affects spool or if it even will at all. Thanks

T04S Cover has slower spoolup with more power potential...probably not needed.

What are your Horsepower Goals ?

I'd go with the e housing unless the price difference was small. You said the S has 2.5" piping, does that mean the S has a 2.5" "piping" comming off the compressor? ...just outta curiousity. I wouldn't worry much about the difference in size anyway, considering it has to make serveral 90 degree bends and go through and intercooler, a 2.5" to 2" reducer shouldn't hurt that much.

I'm also interrested in seeing a dyno of the 2... They told me it would gain about 15hp on the top end, and that the gt35 turbine wheel would yield another 20hp or so... so does this mean that the SC6135S will have about 715hp capability?

The guys at Presicion also told me that that S cover would help spoolup, because the turbo can breath more freely. I'll see today when I put my turbo back on....

I wonder if that means 15HP more from efficency (at the same boost), or if thats 15HP more cause it can boost 2psi more or whatever.. any guesses?

if anyone knows please post. Again, im not concerned with the power increase. Its very cheap to goto the bigger cover and it has the 2.5" outlet already which I liked. So if spoolup is the same or better with the S cover, Id prefer that over the E.

Any info anyone has would be great.

Bump...

Can anyone also tell me why the GT35E or GT35S from precision is rated @ 600hp where the SC61 is rated @ 680hp I read in another post Artubo saying the GT35E will have 50HP over the SC61, why are precision rating it so much lower?

ZoRG - precision told me that the GT35E will not make more power than the sc61, in fact, they said it would make less than the p trim sc61.. the benefit to the gt35e is faster spool, but he didnt know how much faster... he also told me that some of the power figures on the site are wrong.. i.e. all the dif. sc61's are listed at the same power, and the T3 one will make less power than the t4

of course it will make less power then a P-trim SC61, but it makes more power then a T350 SC61 and spools up faster. Im not sure exactly how precision gets there HP ratings on the site but they are not accurate at all.

I think their hp #s are an airflow assumption...

Which one is best to get then?

Which one is the P trim one?
What about the SC6135?

I don't think you'd want the P-trim on a street car. Not unless ur trying to make over 600whp.

what about a drag car? Is the P Trim the T4 one?
What kind of spooling are we talking about?
Any opinions yet on the E cover vs S cover?
