Default typer98 is now naked typer98...Ultra Slim Fast for R's...need some help as I remove more things....

just finished removing some interior parts and disassembling my stereo and I have a few ?'s...

1. I want to remove my power antenna...A) I hate it B) I'm not putting a radio back in (if I do it'll be the stocker and I'll only listen to CD's anyway. My question is, does anyone know of a plug that will fill the hole in so I don't have to spend lots of cash getting body work done? I'll probably do it later on, but I'm looking for a temporary fix so it won't look ghetto...

2. I already removed my rear wiper and motor attachment...how do I drain the wiper fluid so I can remove the rear squirter? I also want a plug for this too, until I can get it filled in...quick fix, preferably a white plug so it somewhat matches my CW paint

3. The brace that is right [edit] under the rear seat [/edit] (Ithink it's to protect the fuel pump wires, etc..) can I remove this? I'm not going to put anything back there, so I'm not worried about it getting hit w/ anything.

4. Is it against any federal law to remove the rear seatbelts if no back seat is going to be there? I am going to take all of that **** out too...

5. I am also considering removing the trim around the rear side windows, any issues I should be aware with it? I don't think so, but just double checking...I have removed the whole interior before to install the stereo, so I'm pretty confident in what I can remove there, but had no reason to remove these before...

thanks in advance guys for all your help...and boy did I notice a big difference in the feel of the car once I removed my subs....I had a nice stereo and I may miss it for a little while, but I don't daily drive the car so I can get used to it...regardless, I love the sound of my exhaust anyway

Jason (naked)

edited for clarity

I was able to find a cap for one of my rx7s at discount auto to replace it's power ant.

Haven't done this one myself yet so I can't answer it.

3. The brace that is right behind the seat (Ithink it's to protect the fuel pump wires, etc..) can I remove this? I'm not going to put anything back there, so I'm not worried about it getting hit w/ anything.
Which brace do you mean? the heavy *** one that's in front of the pump or the next to the pump? I doubt it weighs much but the pump one shouldn't cause any issues to my knowledge, the big *** heavy one is there to protect the passengers in a side collision. Only remove the heavy *** one if you have a cage... if then..

dunno, mine our out of the car though.

No issues with it. you just remove 3-4 screw clips, remove that weatherstripping or whatever stuff, and pull.

my understanding is that the large black brace is a structural member of the car. i don't believe RTR removes this (granted, they're also carrying 100+ lbs winners weight on occasion)

Nope.

Manufacturers are required to provide them... local authorities (State, usually, but in NC it was a city/town law) may require that you wear them (if you're in that seat), but it is not a crime (per se) it is an infraction, punishable by a fine if you don't.

So, since no one will be back there - you're golden.

Happy Stripping.

That black cross-brace was removed on my car ... because I have a full weld-in rollcage, and a cross bar replaces that.

I think you guys are misunderstanding this "brace"....in the pic right above this post, see where the wires are showing...its right there, just out of view...if this flimsy piece of metal is a brace, then we import guys are adding much too much weight in strut bars...

the one i'm talking about does not stretch all the way to either side, it merely "appears" to cover a few wires there....I guess I need a pic...

That metal piece is there to hold up the front of that piece of card board that goes under the carpet and over the spare tire. Remove it...

yeah, that's the one, not the one at the edge of the carpet in that picture...I knew about the big brace there, not removing that one...

Thats the ECU, there is no room for it in the stock location because the cage is in the way.
