High-Altitude Street Tuning Q'S?
i'm in denver, colorado, where my current altitude is 5280' (a mile). Just curious as since the air is not as dense as all the sea level guys, do i still tune the same? shoot for a 12:1 AFR and pull timing ~ .75 Deg/PSI? Anybody have any experience with this?
I'm half your elevation and I follow the usual tuning recommendations. Keep an eye open if you make drastic altitude changes, some engine management setups will be less friendly to such changes, or require tuning to cope with altitude changes as well.
I notice I don't push as much boost at mile high altitudes (when on the Parkway) due to the lower atm pressure, but I don't get more than a psi increase at sea level from my usual 2700 ft.
