Default Apexi super intake

What do you guys think about the Apex-i power dual funnel intake?
Can whats said in this link be believable?
http://mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

If so I will just buy it for $69(cheaper than some used prices here) from Froogle.com and make my own universal kit from a 3" toilet flange and silicone coupling. The picture below shows the filter, 3" toilet flange and a rubber(not PVC) pipe. I will substitute a silicone coupler for the rubber pipe.

I think the filter is about the best you can get. Looks like a good idea.

Wow, I haven't heard of a bad report about this filter. I have already purchased it based on that fact.

I can't wait to see how much better it is than my old and dirty noname filter that I am currently running.

just a little FYI on do it yourself intakes or Home Depot intakes...
If you plan to use piping to make your own intake

DO NOT USE PVC!!

PVC when exposed to heat releases hydrogen chloride gas. This is not to good for your engine by any stretch of the imagination.
What you want to do is get ABS. This is the stuff people often call black PVC. It is usually located right next to the PVC and shouldn't cost much more.

Oh thanks, I was gonna use the filter and a flange and use a silicone coupler to connect it to my existing intake pipe.

I have an apexi drop in filter and it seems to flow pretty well for my n/a application. also uses the factory airbox instead of having the element exposed to under hood temps.

apex'i makes drop in filter for the lude? huh..

PVC would toxic your **** unless you put burn them with a torch, you'll need to melt them before they will do any harm to you.

just some simply facts, pvc are for home improvement project

apex'i got one of the best filter, it over filter k&n and actually have a better cfm

FROM WHAT I READ**

I should've got alot of those sucker when apexi had their annual garage sale.

lol, I don't know anyone who used pvc piping for an intake. I guess that I now know the reason. I wan't gonna use pvc anyways, just the flange and something to connect it to my cheap weapon r intake pipe.

from the looks of it it doesnt seem that it would attach to a general CAI though.

which sucks cause if it did i would replace mine rather then cleaning it (K&N) due to never having to worry about fussing with the APEXi.

Of course it would. Just use a silicone or rubber coupler between the intake and the existing intake pipe. Ignore the rubber pipe in the picture.

I'd worry about it slipping off. The neck on my CAI is pretty long and has 2 clamps that slide over the tube.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. I'll try to get a pic so I can explain better.

I am kind of confused abou this product. I am lookong to get it since it is highly praised. Apexi sells a Supper Intake System and a Power INtake System. I am not sure if these only include the filter or whther gives you everything (pipe, filter, etc) like companies like AEM do. What is the diffrence between the two intakes that APEXi sells?
