.......(sigh) I dunno i'm a honda man at heart and i will never lose love for them but its just not fun owning one anymore. What i mean is, i can't live my life constantly worried that about going to the mall in a jdm type r powered hatch and having it stolen. Or just simply parking a completely stock acura r in a public place. Because of that i'm just too turned off to start my next honda project. I am in the process of getting a new/slightly used car and my price range is $16k-18k. I feel that there arent any cars out there to buy. I love the 350z,s2000,evo,sti, but they all cost way too much. The srt-4 is ....uumm.... UGLY!!!! and the only thing left around that price is a Type-S, Ep3 civic si, celica gts, or a wrx. The wrx obviously being the best, is also the ugliest. the ep3 God knows i love hondas but it just doesnt cut it for looks. The only other cars in the market is a type-s or a celica gts. The type-s is really satisfying and i love it, i mean it delivers on all level, comfort looks and everything, but i feel like its just not fast enough for the money. I could easily spend $15k on a ek civic and be comfortable and smoke a type-s (but then we go back to the thieves ordeal) Then theres the celica gts, i find it very comfortable but its a chick car and just doesnt have any power at all. SO MY RANT AND QUESTION IS BASICALLY THIS.....What the hell can an enthusiast buy for $17k without worrying about thieves as much as hondas, without worrying about how ugly the damn thing is, and without worrying about being smoked??????????sorry for the gay post but i needed to vent mods use proper judgement and do as you like.

 

get full-coverage insurance and an anti-theft alarm. insurance will cover the cost of a car(at its current value) if it stolen and cannot be found.
and please use the "enter" button at some point in your post, it hurts the eyes.

for 15 grand, you could also get a gen2 integra and build it up, no one would suspect what is in it as long as it looks stock and you keep your mouth shut about it.
the celica isn't that bad of a car, the eclipse is a chic car.
do you always have to be the faster car and if you don't street race, like you shouldn't, then you shouldn't worry about being faster or not. there is more to life than that and you can enjoy a car more if you don't worry.

hell, my 90 integra is getting slow, but i still have fun in the canyons.

get a used M3/ 300ZX TT/ Supra T,TT/ 240SX and RB25-26TT power it!

anyways, if you're lucky you can find a USED MKIV supra for that much.

or buy an FD3S RX-7. or save up for a little longer and save up for a 1991 NSX

 

how about 240's (s13 and up)? 80 and up celica gt-s/ corolla? datsuns? 250z's? fd? with a 240? you can't go wrong. you have more than enough to keep a car running daily, on the streets, and maybe "thief-resistant". my 2 cents. DA's?

For 16-18k, you could get:
300ZX TT.
E36 M3 (check out Active Autowerke's stage 2 turbo setup).
80's Porsche 944/968 Turbo or Turbo S (Yummm).
Nissan 240SX w/swap, like others have said.

If you're willing to spend a little more, you could probably find a nice B5 Audi S4.

Depending on where you live, an MKIV Supra TT or decent RX-7 might run a bit (or a lot) more than what you're looking to spend.

i donno what to tell ya man, but i think the type s kinda fits what ur
lookin for, it might be a lil more than u wanna spend but ur gonna settle for
only 2 of the 3 criteria
