is my car possessed or did i just overlooked something...need help
sunday morning i went out for an errand and i boosted a bit on my way home without any problem except that i noticed that the throttle was sticking each time i drive aggressively. since this had been happening for so long i disregarded it.
when i reach my place, i let the car cool down coz i was going to change the front and rear brakepads.
after replacing the brake pads on all 4 wheels, i sprayed the throttle body with carb cleaner coz there's some sludge in it making the throttle plate stick sometimes. i also wiped the wall of the throttle body and as far as i can reach.
after that, i went out to break-in the new brake pads. i was shocked when i notice that my idle is high at 1150 rpm and whenever the step on the clutch prior to making a full stop the tach needle EITHER moves up & down 3 times before settling at about 1150rpm OR moves up to about 1350rpm and stays there for awhile then drops slowly to 1150rpm.
i went home and thoroughly clean the throttle body and IACV with carb cleaner and made sure they're both dry before putting it back in but the cleaning didn't do wonders. i'm still having the same problem.
what's going on? i just replace the brake pads and slightly clean the TB and the idle is fucked. did i messed something up? i don't think replacing the brake pads can screw up idle. i'm suspecting it's the IACV. what do you guys think? if so, why did the IACV decided to screw up so suddenly? is there something that could made it go bad suddenly?
the car is driveable and pulls ok it's just annoying and i don't want to waste fuel and overheat my engine from high idle speed especially i live in a warm climate place and traffic is bad. by the way, the car is a '99 SiR and turbocharged...don't know if it mean anything.
any help will be appreciated.
