Default H&R Sports and Cut Bumpstops!!!!

well ive decided to get some H&R sport springs to go along with my KYB AGX's (getting rid of those cheap coilover sleeves)....my question is: I recently installed the kyb's and cut the bumpstops in half, I've read some post and it said that H&R tells you NOT to cut the bumpstops at all...i was wondering if i can leave the bump stops the way they are or do i need new ones??? ALSO...where can i buy these bump stops? i have no dust covers either and ive seen pics of H&R springs and shocks with dust covers...thanks in advance!!!

i have the exact same setup, and my bumpstops are cut in half. The instructions did say not to cut them, but the shop that installed mine recommend i do, so i don't bottom out. I've had this set up since Summer and no problems yet

You did good to cut them, I didn't and when I took my shocks apart a few months ago I found my rear bumpstops disintegrated from bottoming out.

Also you should put your dust covers on. If you don't dirt can get down in the shock piston seals and make it blow prematurely.

Yes. That's what we did when we put them in my friend's ITR.

Well if they had lowered my car 1.5-1.75" like it was supposed to, then full bumpstops would have probably been better. But they lowered my car 3" but yet are only the softer Sport spring rate, so I had to cut mine.

My bumpstops had been cut in half when I was previously using those cheap R-1 coilovers. I switched to H&R Sports about 6 months ago and have experienced no adverse results from having the bumpstops cut. It's recommended that you do cut them so that you don't bottom out constantly from having a lower all-around ride height. No worries
