You are going at ~1300 for a good shop to do it. You will found cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

Or you can pick up a longblock at Hmotorsonline in Arleta and swap it yourself

I've always believed that if you own a modded car, you should know how to work on it yourself since things WILL break and things WILL go wrong. I've know a few people who have shops do their swaps, then when something goes wrong they're towing the car back to the shop every time. That can get really expensive.
I know that not everyone is mechanically inclined or has a place to work and that's understandable. If that's the case, then you don't have much a choice than to pay a shop or someone else to do the work. You are looking at close to the same price as a full swap to switch the longblock because it basically requires the removal of the entire engine, tranny and all. The labor involved is what is going to cost you.

ive had my car for almost 4 years, everything that has been done to it since i have owned it has been done by me. however, i cant swap the engine myself because it would take too much time and this is my only car. i jus got a job last month so i cant miss work!

1300 for labor? or everything? i know it cant be everything because the longblock costs that much. and if its just labor, thats kinda high, i had like around 600 bucks for labor.

thanks

if anyone else has anything to add to this, please do so!

well then in ur case... that does suck...

to me, its never mattered what the price is on labor cause i think its to high, no matter what the number is.
well if u are a do it urself kinda guy.. and dont wanna pay the price.. or at least find a price u are happy with...
with the new job.. hate to say it, but ask for a weekend off... getta couple friends who know what they are doing to help u out also.... more hands help all the time...
