Default 93 DOHC timing

New To Hondas. Book says TDC with WHITE mark on flywheel. I see a white dash and also a white cross. Which do I use? Is there a reference timing mark for the rear balancer pully?
Thanks

Joe

The rear balancer pulley must be aligned using a maintanence bolt in the back of the block that allows you to insert a bolt(dont know the exact size off the top of my head but check your repair manual) and then align the mark on the front balancer pulley and you can install the balancer belt. If your just checking your timing and havent removed the belt than disregard all of this.

Thanks for the info. I hate to sound stupid, but I take it that the rear balancer shaft will accept the 6x100 mm rod or screw in only one position.

Yes, just place it in the hole with minor pressure and the turn the rear balancer shaft until it goes in.

You guys are great!!.
I found the white dash and what think is the timing pointer which is in a small window covered with a rubber stopper. it is located on top of the flywheel housing at the back of the motor. I hope that is what I am suppose to use. Every time i turn the crank pully slowly and watch #1 cylinder come up to the top, the white timing mark on the flywhell is pretty well past the timing pointer. is it possible i am using the wrong reference. is there another one?
I have done this several times and #1 will top twice, one somewhat close to white and the other way off. Of course, i could be using the wrong reference.
HELP!!!

Will get a real manual after this.

sorry,
additional info to my post today.
The #1 cylinder reaches top when the pointer described in previous post today, is on the white cross on the flywheel. it also reaches top at another location, which I understand. It doesn't top out at the white dash, it goes past the white dash and tops out at the white cross.
As prevoiusly stated, I am using the reference pointer located at the top rear of the motor in a small window on top of the flywheel cover.
