Default Problem ( help ) TB question

hey guys, i need some help, i dont know whats up with my car!
i have a 2000 civic SIR... ( SI to americans )

and well everytime i run on the highway im on cruise control it seems fine but when i turn it off to go on the off ramp.... my throttle sticks...

now that im in neutral, my car is revving at 3000RPM it sticks, i literally have to put my foot under the gas pedal to pull it and snap the TB shut!

what is causing this.....?
i checked the the TB, it seems to work fine, but another thing i did check was the cable being extremely LOOSE!

could this be a factor to this some what dangerous cause???
if so, how do i tigthen the cable?

thanks!

the throttle has a spring which should close the throttle under any conditions... perhaps it is your cruise control unit...

attack your throttle body with some carb cleaner (or whatever the 'fuel injection safe' version is) it could just be some gunk built up in there...

you may even want to take the throttle body off for a good thorough cleaning.

readjust your throtlle cable... hold the front nut toward the tb and turn the other clockwise until the cable firm but not tight.. that mean when you touch the cable the tb not moving and the cable give a little. and 1 more thing check the rubber thingy near the tb to see if too close to it if it is move back toward the where the 2 nuts are. try that
