Default Not the main realy, what now

I swapped the main relays between my cars, the broken one is still broken, the other still works perfect.

Symptoms: turn key to 'ACC' everything is fine, turn to 'IGN' and the main relay clicks and the lights all flash.

It is a 91HB w/ MPFI swap. Everything was fine until after i changed the headgasket, now this.

Any ideas?

When you turn the key to the second pos. can you hear the fuel pump prime? I would check all your wiring connections. Is the ECU throwing any codes?

-yesterday it worked for 5 min (then returned to flickering), the fuel pump did prime

I would check all your wiring connections. Is the ECU throwing any codes?
-the ECU is not on long enough to throw codes, i didn't check codes yesterday

So when you turn the key nothing happens ? The engine does not even attempt crank correct ?

So the car was fine for 5 minutes then did it die out or did you shut it off and try to start it back up and nothing again ? When the problem occurs have you tried to see if your getting power to the starter ? It almost sounds like your ignition switch is acting up on you.

when i went to start it the problem started, i bet your right, fawk, now i need to try an ignition switch...

I think i'll try to hotwire it, that will bypass the ignition switch. Is there a connector around there somewhere?

So it wont even turn over? When I did my swap it would turn over but it wouldn't start. The ECU would tell me what was up even though it hadnt started...

Yes there is a connector around there, here is a pic of it. You could actually stick a screw driver in there and switch the switch with that.

Check all the grounds on the wiring harness, we did a B16 swap and it was acting very similarly.

Same with me, after I did my mpfi on my old DX it did this exact same thing except my damn main relay would click non stop once in a while with the gauge lights flashing repeatedly, and car wouldnt start.

ended up being a bad ground(well numerous grounds) but most significantly on the tranny behind the starter on the the thermostat housing.

This is fairly common after head swaps you do much wiring you forget about the little things.

Id check the grounds and battery connections
