clutch problem
97 Accord EX
Original Problem:
Car runs fine unless I hit alot of stop signs, hit stop and go traffic, or on hills. During each shift, RPMs run high while car doesn't move as fast as the RPMs are revving.
I replaced the master cylinder, disk, pressure plate, bearing, resurfaced the flywheel, and bled the clutch yesterday.
New Problem (the day after the clutch install):
Car ran fine...no problems. I drove it around trying to duplicate my original problem to see if the car was ok, and I couldn't get into 1st gear. I eventually got it in and took off. When I hit 2nd gear, the RPMs started to creep up a little (not too high, but could tell it was creeping because the engine was revving without the car moving). A couple stop lights after this incident...the problem went away. Obviously, it shouldn't be like this and if anyone has any ideas on why this is happening...fill me in. TIA

Did you do this clutch install yourself? If so, did you torque down the pressure plate to flywheel to spec? If you didn't, it's possible the pressure plate isn't torqued down tight enough and is letting the friction plate slip too easily.
For the hard into first gear problem, it almost sounds like the clutch isn't fully disengaging. Put it in neutral, get a friend to press the clutch in and out for you, and see if the slave cylinder is pushing the, uhh, I think it's called a clutch fork, far enough.
