B18C (GSR) into a 93 Civic DX hatch...what else do I need?
So I'm picking up a 98 GSR motor here in a day or two. This is what it comes with:
--Motor
--Tranny
--ecu
--axles
--motor mounts
What else do I need to ask for or what extra do I need to get to make this motor work? I know I'll need to source another O2 sensor for the odb2 ecu, but what other little items will I need? Will I be able to reuse all of my shift linkage? What exactly will I need to do with my current wire harness or will I need the new one from the GSR motor?
Sorry for all of the basic questions, but I want to be prepared before I get the motor out of my car. Any advice would be great.
Thanks.

you'll need an obd1 p72 ecu cause an obd2 ecu won't plug up to your obd1 chassis harness.
sorry bud.
you could find a p28 ecu chip it for the dohc program and get a skunk2 manifold to dump the secondary's, but that obd2 ecu ain't gonna work.

Don't bother with OBD2. Get an OBD1 ECU. Its totally PnP. You will need to add three wires and move some pins around on the ECU plugs but its pretty easy. E-mail me directly and i will forward you an MS word doc that has all my swap research.

you'll need the shiftlinkage...might want to change your clutch to a ACT or a performance one cause its going to be a pain in the *** to change it later...save on labor and time cost cause the motor is out already...just a suggestion...Oh Yeah OBDI ecu...yeah make sure you have the o2 sensor that **** cost like 200 bucks at the dealer...OUCH!!!
Hello Todd.
Hey, you know, an R and a hybrid is a little too much for a man?
Like people say, get a OBD1 ecu, this will save you a lot of trouble. If you plan on getting a Skunk2 manifold, you may want to get the chipped P28 instead (Katman or Locash).
Do you plan to run your hybrid in the future (Solo2)?
Later,
Derek

LOL, might be adding a 91 Si to the stable of cars too... I just can't get enough hondas!
The R is going to be the full time autox car--the Civic just a nice driver. And how's your swap coming along? Once you get your car done (if it isn't already), then I can pick your brain for information

Check yo mail. Don't want to take up space for private chit-chat.
Talk to you later,
