Default If i were to go with hondata...

Im thinking about going with a Hondata system, now which ecu would you recommend using? Would it matter much if i went with a usdm or jdm ecu? Im assuming the jdm ones are much easier to come by. Its for a 96 lude with a jdm H22.

What!? You cant use a prelude ecu for hondata.

I would sugest the p28 or the p72 for an h22. The p72 is alot more expensive though, but at the same time you get IAB control and knock sensor readability. The p28 doesnt do either of them. For an N/A setup no knock sensor could be very usable but also deadly for your motor in the long run. (COULD BE)

I for one am going hondata and using the p28 for my h23 vtec. I just took the IAB's out of the intake manifold and I dont want the knock sensor because of all the problems people have with them.

You can use a jdm or usdm ucu. It doesnt matter with hondata because when you get it tuned it all takes care of it.

Also you can go to hondata.com and do some searching on hondata and you can learn alot about this stuff.

alright cool... I think i will go the same route as you, thanks a lot.

I guess now that i might be going with Hondata a vafc and a fpr would be pointless then huh?

Vafc would be pointless, but an fpr would probably be useful because i dont think that hondata controls the FUEL PRESSURE just the volume of it.

im planning on going N/A w/ itbs (because that skunk2 aint never comin out) and my question is which ecu to go with p28 or p72? i would like to have the knock sensor but i obviously dont need the iab control. could i get the p72 and just eliminate the iab function (without throwing and CELs) and how could i do that?

Now dont quote me on this but I beleive that all you have to do is pull the vaccum line on the iab. Its on the bottom of the intake manifold. But if I was you I would just save the extra 100 bucks and screw the knock sensor since it could affect your performance and you wouldnt even know it.
