h22 traction
after searching around and reading just about every post ever made on H-T about the h22 civic hybrid thing I found that a lot of people say the traction sucks with it. Is it really that bad? I was planning on doing this swap and I dont want to be roasting tires left and right every time I get on gas.
when i race i use thoes flaken drag raidials and i have no trac bars and it cut down wheel spin a good bit but i like to put a set if 14 on te front and burn 3rd like no n/a b could
"Traction sucks" because people like to launch the car like a B-series motor and the wheels just spin. It takes practice launching a H22 Civic but when you get it down, it'll fly down the track.
BTW, I used to drive with reg Dunlop tires (had Falken Ziex) and afterwhile, they spin a lot for daily driving when you get on it. Switched to Nitto drag radials on my EG and used Falken Azenis tires on my EK (which I liked better for daily driving for a couple of reasons). Point being, if you want traction on the street or track, you're going to want to get some good, soft tires to drive on.

I have Falken Azenis on my C8's and the traction isnt bad, but for winter I have some crappy tires on my LS mesh and thats when traction is an issue. Its all about the right tire and launching right
practice, practice, practice........

that's true i had a b18b swap before i was used to launching it high. Then when i got the h22 swap i would do the same and it would light up the tires. But when you do learn the g spot then you'll appreciate the h22.

Same here, I would say practice. When i first got my H22 swap, my launch was horrible cuz I kept thinking I can launch at a high rpm. You get good traction if you launch around 3. I have falken Azenis's on it now.
I had a lot of problems over the summer launching. I was running Yokohama AVS tires on my C8's and they just weren't hooking up. But for this year I'm gonna run the Falken Ziex and I'm looking into a traction bar setup.

1st, it all depends on what tires you're running. 2nd, read what I said up above.... each setup is different and it takes practice to find the "sweet spot" with you car when launching it. Weather, ground/track surface, tire air pressure, how the motor is running, etc.... all that factors into how you launch the car.

And this has been on regular steet tires.
I can't wait to get a chance at just DRIVING my eg, the motor has been in the car now for about 3 weeks and i have to just stare at it due to the nasty *** weather, and lack of axles
