Next summer I think about trying this to get better traction in first, second and third gear.... if it is possible on my EMS.

I didnt read too much about it on the EMS forum but I want to know if someone here tried it and how it goes ?

This is want I want .... it is just an example :

first gear max speed is like 40 mph so : 0 to 40, 6 psi max
second gear : 41 to 60, 10 psi max

etc....

So what I want to do : my tuner will tune the car to by example 15 psi for all speed and after this I will have to try to see how much psi I want for all gears by testing it by myself....

Ive been using this for a while now and it works great. I run the w/g pressure up to about 40mph which is 7psi then after that it goes to about 9 in 2nd and 10 up from there. As long as your close with your w/g duty map and your target boost comp map then you shouldn't have any issues.

 

mmm great great ! And can I do this my self... I cant tune a car but after that my car have been tuned for 15 psi.... I could maube do this myself ?

 

yea you could do it your self but your gonna have to do a lot of trial and error like what percent duty cycle on the boost solenoid equals what boost pressure. Once you know that then its pretty easy to set up.

 

you're describing boost control, not traction control (which cuts fuel/ignition/retards timing in order to get traction under control)

w/ boost control on the ems

there is three different methods.

First being rpms vs throttle, second being vehicle speed dependant (my favorite), and last high/low switchable.....

on the vehicle speed dependant, all you have to do is modify the graph in order to set your target boost level.

as long as you have the boost solenoid setup correctly, it works pretty damn good.

 

ok I know what you mean ... I tried to raise the boost last summer ... and do you like the feel that more gears you shift more power you get it must be really cool compare to just spin in first , second and third gear !!!

Thank the speed dependant should be the best for me ... I dont care if the car spin a lill bit but I dont want to see my speedometer at 60 mph and to see a stock Firefly pass me loll ....

 

In doing my research, I've discovered that AEM has a traction control feature. Its based on limiting the acceleration of the motor (RPMS, not vehicle speed) if I understand correctly. Its supposed to work great if you can get all the parameters setup properly.... has anyone used the "treaction control" feature of the EMS?
