Default Wiring woes

alright, so i bought my car with no cd player or anything, just a hole-and today i thought i would try and wire in a buddies cd player just for a week until my new one comes.

I got everything to work kinda, but then i decided i didn't want it in there so i took it out, now my clock is all mest up! when it does light up it only works with the lights off, and when it doesn't light up it only lights up with the reset button pressed. Did i blow a fuse?? this sucks nuts

Maybe it has a poor ground. You might have shook a wire out of its place or something.

I know this may sound stupid, but i checked under the steering wheel by the fuses, and its just a bunch of wires with random fuses all over. On my grand am they are all in a nice need box type deal-is that what they are supposed to be like in my hatch or are they supposed to be all messed up looking?

yeah there should be about 2 thinker single wires and a clump or wires that connects to the viper alarm. In stock from it looks like that, minuse the clump of wires and the box. lol
there 1-2 thick amp/ cable wires that are trailed into the rear of the trunk. the previouse guy before me has a 1500 deck, dvd player and 2 14's with a bad *** amp.

as about the clock..... I think you did fry it some how.
What are the symptoms of the clock... ie: blinks, doesn't hold time, resets, only works when "____" is on/off.... tell me more.

I only installed a different (sony) deck into it the 1st week i got it, the 2nd week it was broken into and stolen (hence the passenger door)
All the wires you need are still intact. nothing missing.

let me know if you need some help. I'm not really into music and amps and what not but I can certainly try to help you out as best i can.

whoa- I forgot about this post...i figured everything out-it was just a blown fuse. I got my panasonic deck in, it didn't take to much trouble.

Charlie-i noticed that thick red power wire for an amp-but do you know if it has an inline fuse in it?

yeah i'm 99% sure it does have a breaker fuse in it. the owener before me was really into audio systems and i'm nearly positive he has one in place as asurance.
I don't know were it could be located though.
