fuse immediately blows every time i put a new one in...
i was checking all my underdash fuses just now and as soon as i put a new 15 into the cigarette lighter, interior light, clock spot..it sparks and blows.
i tried 20 and 30 as well and they would blow as soon as it came into contact with the spot.
any ideas?

i picked up the car with it already blown (or at least the clock was out and the cig lighter worked on occasion)
but i did just put in a new head unit last night..

Definitely a short somewhere in the circuit. E(volts)=I(current)R(ohms).
12V=I x .1). I(current)=120amps. 120 amps will blow the fuse, and burn up the wiring if exposed to it for a matter of a few seconds or more.

Take the head-unit back out, recheck teh wires are secured/taped up correctly that no wire is hanging out. I had the same thing happening, it was my radio harness had wiring hanging out somewhere, that my cd player kept shorting my fuse out.

Yup I had a wire on the cd player harness blow a fuse that blew the entire interior instrument light, my cluster wouldn't work, dash wouldn't work, no interior light worked.

Not the whole car. Just the circuit that the fuse is protecting. There are hundreds of circuits in the cars wiring. I'd look at the repair manual, and find out which circuit that fuse protects, and look at the wiring/components that are on it. Most shorts occur at the ends of the wires near the plugs. definitely pull the dash panels, and look for damaged wires, and look at the plugs for a short somewhere.

Sounds like you blew one of the main fuses under the hood. That happened to me before also, when I hardwired my radiator fans to a toggle switch.

Re: (loudassVTEC)
i had same problem...i rigged it quickly to see if the head unit worked...but it was a loose wire from the back of the head unit touching metal.... like up above...make sure everything is covered/taped etc.

i checked the fuses in the fusebox under the hood, too. they're all fine.

Re: (. M i c h a e l)
easiest way to tell if it is the head unit is to just disconect it and make sure non of the wires are touching any metal an reinstall a fuse and if it blows out not the head unit. Best bet is to get the elctrical schematic and find out what componnents are related to that system!!

check and make sure no wires are loose or cut, youre grounding out in one of those circuits which is causing your fuse to blow continuously.

First, NEVER replace a fuse with a bigger one it is a good way to burn your car to the ground.
MM&Y of car would help.
As has been mentioned you have a dead short to ground, I would start by disconnecting the lighter, a common dead short component.
The stereo should have nothing to do with your problem as no leads running to it are on that fuse, a 12V constant power, the only 12V constant power going to the stereo is the memory lead and it is fuse in the engine bay, so unless the new stereo is pinching a white/blue lead behind the dash it is not the problem
I need MM&Y of car but on most Honda/Acura that fuse covers the dome and trunk/hatch. lights and map lights, [if you have them] ad the lighter. So start by unplugging the lighter, [wiring from lighter, not just pulling the lighter out] also lift drivers side rocker panel cover, [sill plate] and inspect wiring running to rear of car for damage, [trunk/hatch light power lead, white/blue runs with that harness[. 94
