I got a used greddy kit for 540 bucks with no shaft play what so ever. I'd say go with a used kit. At least get the manifold and turbo, everything else is easy to piece together. Just remember the greddy is only good to 11psi so if you have bigger plans......

I have seen people make power on the greddy kit up to 16 psi before it runs out of steam.

Damn, the maps say it runs out of it's efficiency at around 11psi on a honda. Of course i haven't had it that high, i guess there's no replacement for actually doing it for yourself.

Unless your devoted to the idea of peicing together a kit, buy one first. Unless you already know what your doing, its better to get everything together the first time, you'll learn the basics, decide if its for you, and have a good time. If you do it yourself, yes the "kit" is going to be better, probably much better if you get good advice and do good research, but your going to have to learn a lot of things in order to avoid wasting money. If after you get a Greddy kit or whatever you choose, you really like having a turbo car, then start looking into motor building, turbo sizing, intercooler efficiency, wastegates, etc. You'll probably be up and running faster with a kit with less down time as well. Honestly, from someone who didnt buy a kit his first time, do it, just buy a kit, these cars take over your life(not that its bad). Good luck man

for a greddy kit. My friend just put it in his d16z6 hatch, and at 5 psi it is nice. You will be satisfied, especially if this is you first turbo. Plus, the greddy kit has room for growth. Someone who posted earlier made 250 whp on the kit!!!! Great for a first time booster.

I agree as the Greddy kit is a great starter kit. I had one before I went custom!!!

Get a kit if you don't know what you are doing....combining parts to make up a turbo kit isn't for the mechanically challenged.

For your first turbo setup, getting some kind of kit is the best way to start.
