LS/Vtec Buildup questions
Hey I'll be starting my LS/Vtec buildup this weekend (atleast starting to order the parts). I'll give you an idea of what Im doing because I'm unsure if I have either over looked somethign or just missed somethign all together. I'm buying alot of my stuff from Full-Race (and I must add they are awesome and helpfull guys). I'm using a LS bottom end with GSR head. Using Full-Race Valves,Spring,Retainers, and Rods, CP pistons, and trying to get a hold of Dart to get a price on sleeving the block. Finally Im looking to run the Full-Race stage 2-3 kit and run around 550whp-600whp.
Now these are my questions....
1) The guys at Full-Race recommended a 83.5mm bore and sleeve on the block, just trying to get some opinions on this...
2) What compression ratio do you think would be good for this setup?
3) I've seen the keeping the stock GSR cam's is perfered by alot of people and probably what I'll do, but what about the crank? Micropolished is a definate what else? Does anyone recommend a shop to do the crank work?
4) What about the bearings, seals, ect? Full-race recommended to replace the stock ones, any recommendations?
5) Lastly what about block girdles...is there a better manufacture then another, who have you had success with?

Unfortunately I live in an area where there are no shops for afew hundred miles and the phone and internet are DEFINATELY my friend when tryin to get the anwer to complex questions like this stuff.
