Default Sub question

ok, i have a question, this was posted in another thread but it got no responses.

Due to an car accident my two 12" fosgate Punch RFP-412 got screwed. They were being powered by a Fosgate 100ix dsm. My question is, what would be a good replacement for them. Its been a long time (obviously) since i had to buy new equipment. I am looking for single voice coil subs to go into a ported box.
Possible choices

1. Infinity Reference 1230w
2. JBL GT120
3. Kenwood KFC-w3005
4. MTX thunder 8000

And any others that you can recommend

It would make it easier for someone that wants to help you if you post the specs of that amp you have.

ok, the specs that i can find are

mono into 4 ohms..................420watts
per channel into 2 ohms....................200watts
RMS continuous power mono into 4 ohms.....................200watts

This information was taken from the fosgate website. I am unable to find my original birth certificate from the amp, but i do remember that is was way underrated. Also it doenst give the info for a 2 ohm mono load which i was and will be running again.

hmmm, that's odd, that amp shouldn't be run at a 2 ohm mono load...it's designed for a 4 ohm mono load....it must double as a BBQ!!

That's a sweet and very under-rated amp...I have an old 4020 and a 60 running around still.

Are you planning on a new box? What size is the box? What kind of depth do you have to work with? Budget? SQ/SPL or a mix?

as far as the BBQ goes, it really doesn't get that hot the only time i have ever had it over heat what when it was over 100 deg out side and the amp had been on for a few hours.

As far as the box goes, i will be using the same box, the accident only caused damaged to the cones and a tear in the carpeting of the box, besides the back end of the car that it was in.

The box is a custom box that was build for the fosgates. It is a ported box with about 1.9 cubic feet per sub. I am looking for good SQ but wouldn't mind a mix of SQ/SPL. as far as budget goes, i wanted something fairly inexpensive say under $500. If not i think i might start a whole new system and sell everything that i have now.
