here's the deal, i am finishing up a swap (obd1 lsvtec into a ek). everything went fine and the engine fired up on the first try. then i was pulling out of the garage in reverse, when i went to put it in first i heard a little pop and then the motor would just rev up. i tryed putting it into first gear again but but the car wouldnt move. i also tried every gear and none of them worked!!!

what could be the problem? is this my clutch or my axles or even my tranny?

Does the speedo go up when you try to launch the car (aka start rolling)? if so, you did not put the axle(s) in all the way. Take the suspension apart again and push them all the way in. They should be flush with the transmission.

 

Check your axles.

Jack up the car and look around, since you did the swap, i'm assuming that you're pretty competent, and you'll probably notice the problem immediately.

 

sounds like the axle wasn't seated in all the way and pop'd out.

 

gotta be the axles.

 

same thing happened to me. it was the axle that popped out. check the axles. make sure they're in securely.

check you axles, and be sure to use the right length one. I have had this happen before to my car. I order the right alxes but they rebuild it wrong ( from O'reilly auto parts) . It keep pooping out like 5 time.
