Hi guys, what is the best cam in your opinion to make good power when boosting? i always hear people saying that ITR cams are teh best, but is there any others that are better? i tried search and couldnt find any, im sure there are a few people out that want to knwo too... or even custom cams, anybody have any suggestions?

 

Depends....you can make that kind of power on a b16 cam and the right setup probably.....

Some say ITR, some say GSR, some say After market....just your preference...

try to search, there was one with itr cams that made over 600whp!!!!

 

I plan on picking up a set of Crowers 63401T Turbo Cams for my project.

People have made power on GSR,ITR,SI cams. It really depends on if the head is built, P&P'd, and cam gears IMO.

You can pretty much dial out overlap and fine tune any cam to make power.

But read the whole thing BECAUSE I am not saying the ITR cams are the END ALL TELL ALL cams out there, THEY WORKED for MY SET UP but as you can see above turbotypeR says GSR because he swapped from an ITR to a GSR and made like 48whp and I made an increase of 37whp at same boost level and RPM and when raising red line made a maximum peak gain of 53whp.

 

the main difference i see is the power band.the gsr's are good to about 8500-8700rpm(for my car).and it seems the power comes on later and pulls to the moon with the itrs.i say,if you are reving to or above 10,000 rpm,use the itr,if you are at or below 9000 rpm,go with the gsr cams
