boost gauge doesnt read till 5k????

Default boost gauge doesnt read till 5k????

im running a t25 turbo on my sohc v-tec motor and i noticed that my boost gauge doesnt start climbing till around 5k...also im running straight off the wastegate and i only boost to about 7lbs...is this normal????

what are you running off the waste gate????? the boost gauge should be fitted to a manifold vacuum line. if anyone tries to tell you it should be somewhere else its so they can post higher boost figures, you just want to know what your motor is seeing in psi. and no it is not right for your car to boost so late. how much vacuum is your car pulling at ide???? like 15 HG or less??? then motor problems

First, you need to use some kind of boost controller, otherwise the wastegate is going to open prematurely and slow spool.

Second, it sounds like your wastegate flapper isn't sealing properly.

yup, if you gauge has a vacume read it won't be reading anything at all because you don't have it at the right spot.. you need it on the manifold.. tap it out of the FPR or some other one.. if its still not boosting till 5 grand then you have turbo problems.. posiably restrictive oil return
